Brand Story
The Truth Nobody Was Saying Out Loud
I · The Signal — "Sold Out in 48 Hours"
I've been doing e-commerce for twenty years.
I know what a product launch looks like. I know what a category signal looks like. And I know the difference between the two.
This was a signal.
We listed a card restoration tool kit on Amazon — no campaign, no influencer push, no press release. Just listed it. It sold out in 48 hours. We restocked and doubled the price. It sold out at the same rate.
That's not a product performing well. That's a market telling you something.
I sat with that for a while. Because when you've spent two decades watching demand curves, you learn to read what they're actually saying — not just what's on the surface. And what this was saying wasn't "people like this product." It was something quieter and more important: people have been making do with nothing.
So I looked at the data.
PSA graded 19.26 million cards in 2025 alone — a 26% increase year-over-year. The entire grading industry crossed 26 million submissions in a single year, a number that would have been unthinkable a decade ago. The global trading card market sits at $7.8 billion and is still climbing. Pokémon, MTG, sports cards — the category doesn't matter. Serious collectors are everywhere, and they're growing in number every year.
And yet: between the moment a collector pulls a card from a pack and the moment it goes into a PSA submission envelope — that entire window of time had no professional standard attached to it. No brand had looked at that stage of the collector's journey and said, we are going to treat this with laboratory-grade seriousness.
Users weren't choosing a solution. They were settling for whatever was available.
That's not a gap in a product line. That's a gap in an entire category.
II · The Stance — "If Nobody's Setting the Standard, We Will"
Here's what bothers me about the card care space: the word "safe" gets used constantly, and it means nothing.
Safe by whose standard? Tested how? By whom? Against what?
DEDC was built on a single operating principle: every claim we make has to be provable. Not implied. Not suggested by lifestyle photography. Provable — with data you can look at and verify yourself.
Our formulations didn't come from a generic supplier catalog. They came from applying quality control standards borrowed from precision optics manufacturing — the same engineering logic used in camera lens cleaning solutions and micro-optical polishing compounds. We didn't ask "what's good enough for cards?" We asked "what does optical-grade surface care look like, and how do we bring that standard here?"
Our AI scoring model wasn't built on guesswork. We ran 4,000 blind tests against known PSA grades to validate its consistency before we made a single public claim about it. If the model couldn't hold up to that scrutiny, we wouldn't ship it.
And when other brands in this space went quiet after PSA issued warnings about certain restoration practices — retreating into vague language and hoping nobody asked follow-up questions — we made a different decision. We wrote it into our values, in plain language:
Restoration is for presentation, not concealment. Our formulas are fully disclosed. Any grading company is welcome to test them.
That's not a marketing line. That's a commitment to being auditable.
In twenty years of e-commerce, I've watched countless brands build on the assumption that customers won't look too closely. DEDC was built on the opposite assumption: that serious collectors look at everything closely, because their collections represent real value and real care. They deserve a brand that operates at their level.
III · The Promise — "Not a Miracle. A Process."
The card grading hobby has a particular kind of anxiety built into it.
You spend hours researching a card. You spend real money acquiring it. You sleeve it carefully, store it correctly, and eventually commit to a grading submission — which costs more money, takes weeks or months, and ends with a number you have no control over. For most collectors, that final step feels like handing something valuable to chance.
DEDC exists to change what happens before that moment.
Not to guarantee a PSA 10 — no honest brand can do that, and we won't pretend otherwise. But to make sure that by the time your card reaches the grading table, you've done every single thing within your control with precision and data behind it.
That's the three-layer promise we're built around:
Scan. Before you touch a card with any product, you should understand what you're working with. Our AI imaging system analyzes surface condition, identifies specific defect types, generates a grade prediction with a confidence score, and pulls real-time eBay comps — so you know, objectively, whether a card is worth submitting and what grade range to realistically expect. No more Reddit rabbit holes. No more gut-feel guesses.
Restore. If the card has surface issues that can be responsibly addressed, we tell you exactly what to use and why. Not "apply product A to area B" — but a full breakdown of the formulation, the lab test data behind it, a before-and-after comparison protocol, and an honest assessment of expected outcome range. We write our product guides the way a medical device manufacturer writes its instructions: with the assumption that the person reading them is serious and deserves complete information.
Grade. When you seal that submission envelope, you're not hoping anymore. You're submitting with documentation — a scan record, a condition log, a restoration record if applicable. Whatever grade PSA assigns, you've done the maximum that was in your power to do, and you can demonstrate that. That's what certainty feels like in a hobby that's historically had very little of it.
The 48-hour sellout was a signal.
The 26 million cards graded in a single year is a signal.
The fact that nobody had built a brand that treated "before you send it to PSA" as seriously as PSA treats what happens inside their facility — that was the loudest signal of all.
DEDC is the answer to that signal. Not because we set out to build a brand story, but because the data kept pointing at the same empty space, and someone had to step into it with standards.
We decided that someone would be us.
DEDC — Scan. Restore. Grade.
AI-Powered. Lab-Verified. Built for collectors who take their cards as seriously as we do.
